BOLTON residents are being urged to take part in the '‘The World’s Biggest Pub Quiz’ to raise cash for charity.

Between March 8 and 12 hundreds of licensed premises across the UK - including several in Bolton. Horwich, Westhoughton , Farnworth and Atherton - will be taking part.

They will stage quizzes to raise funds for charities including this year’s partner 'Action Against Hunger'.

Organised by PubAid, the first quiz took place in 2016 and last year more than 1,500 took part raising more than £230,000 for good causes.

Bolton West MP Chris Green said: “Pubs play a vital role as central community hubs - they host a space for people to come together and routinely provide regular contributions to charitable causes. I am delighted to support local pubs as they take part in The World’s Biggest Pub Quiz. I am also encouraging locals who haven’t yet registered to get involved and sign up."
