CAR owners in the north of the borough are being warned to protect their vehicles due a continuing spate of lock snapping thefts.
The warning, issued by Greater Manchester Police, comes after another vehicle was stolen in a burglary on a home in Mayfield Road, Holcombe Brook, on Tuesday.
To help combat the thefts officers are also offering to give owners of targeted vehicles a home security visit.
In a statement, GMP Bury North said: "Burglary alert. Occurred on Mayfield Road, Holcombe Brook, March 31. Door locks snapped and a hot hatch vehicle was stolen.
"Residents of Tottington, Greenmount, Ramsbottom and Summerseat who own premium vehicles and hot hatches please contact burynorth@gmp.police.uk to request a home security visit from your Neighbourhood Team.
"Covid-19 precautions will be taken. Lock snapping is still taking place, upgrade those locks whilst we are on lockdown, and report any suspicious activity via 101."
