Dogs unit: Police dog helped locate the suspect
POLICE in Accrington have apprehended a suspected burglar thanks to help from the service's dogs unit.
Police reported at 5.08am that they were called to an Accrington post office were the burglar was still at large.
The building was contained by Blackburn Police, Lancashire Tactical Operations Unit and the firearms team before the dog, known as PD Jax was sent in.
In a tweet a spokesperson for the dogs unit said: "Excellent containment by Blackburn Police, Lancs Tactical Opps and Lancs ARV.
"PD Jax searches and locates male inside the premises."
The man is now detained in police custody.
