FIREFIGHTERS tackled a garden fire in Winwick yesterday, Thursday, which had spread to a neighbouring garage.
Two fire crews from Warrington and Birchwood attended Faringdon Road at around 4.15pm after reports of a fire in a back garden.
They discovered that a fire involving trees had spread.
A house was evacuated as a precaution while hose reel jets extinguished the flames.
Firefighters then cut away parts of the trees that were damaged and looked for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.
They were in attendance for more than an hour and 15 minutes.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
