A teenager has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged in connection with an incident in which a police officer was hit by a car.
Rehman Hussain, 19, of Halifax Road, Nelson, was charged with dangerous driving in Southfield Street, Nelson, assaulting PC Joe Aston causing him actual bodily harm, driving without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence and possession of 10 bags of cannabis.
He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and not guilty to all other matters. He was remanded in custody until he stands trial.
The court was told PC Aston suffered an injury to a knee after being struck by a moving car.
