FOUR men have been charged by the county’s serious and organised crime police unit over a series of alleged stun gun robberies at premises in Oldham, Tameside and Stockport.

Two of the alleged robberies are said to have been local - at the Mini Market in Lee Street on April 5 and at the International Mini Market in Lees Road on April 7.

Police have now confirmed four have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery as a result of the raids, which are also said to have occurred at stores in Dukinfield, Denton, Hyde and Stockport.

All of the allegations related to incidents which have occurred since the lockdown began on March 23, according to police.

Izmamamul Majeed, 22, and Izharaoul Majeed, 23, both of Belgrave Road, Oldham, and Mahdi Abubakar, also 22, of Park Street, and Emran Miah, 18, of Coniston Grove, both Ashton, have appeared before Tameside magistrates on the conspiracy charge. and all four were remanded in custody to appear before Manchester Crown Court on May 29.

Five out of the six alleged offences are believed to have seen the offenders armed with a Taser or another type of stun gun device.
