Volunteers from construction company Seddon have been out and about delivering food across the borough.

Staff from the Bolton-based firm have been giving up their time to help those in need since the end of March, and have delivered and packed thousands of food parcels.

Teams from the firm have predominantly been helping Urban Outreach to pack and deliver food where it’s needed, but some volunteers have been working with Salford food bank too.

Last month, the hardworking volunteers delivered over 5,300kg of food, averaging 850 food parcels a week to the people of Bolton and Salford.

The super helpers have been publicly thanked for their work by the charity, who are providing meals to those in need.

Staff from Seddon also gave up their time to refurbish clinical rooms in Stockport.

The revamped and painted unit was intended to offer more space to be able to treat patients in during the coronavirus crisis.

Work to finish off a unit at the Sue Ryder neurological care centre in Lancashire, which would add 40 beds to the site’s capacity, was also undertaken by the firm during the coronavirus crisis.
