AN investigation is underway after a church in Lydgate was broken into on Sunday night.
Police are understood to be probing a burglary at St Anne's Church.
An eyewitness is thought to have photographed a suspect leaving the village church at the time.
Dave Marshall, a church warden, said a broken window there will soon be made secure and little damage has been done.
He has also thanked locals who make a point of keeping an eye on both church and the parish hall while both are remain closed.
The police have said that break-ins at such properties are on the increase during lock down and have called for extra vigilance.
