SUPERMARKET Iceland has been praised by shoppers on social media after adopting all of Chester Zoo's Humboldt penguins to help with their Save Our Zoo campaign.
The zoo appealed for help last week after being told it would be closed 'indefinitely'.
Social distancing measures have been put in place at the 128-acre site but the Government has yet to give zoos the green light to reopen.
Bosses launched the Save Our Zoo campaign on Wednesday and revealed the attraction was “at risk of extinction” and could end the year £24 million in debt as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Iceland tweeted they wanted to do their bit to help and would be adopting all of Chester Zoo's penguins.

Richard Walker, managing director of Iceland Foods, said: “We were all saddened to hear of Chester Zoo’s recent struggles.
“It’s the heart of the local community in Chester and a much loved family favourite – I remember visiting the zoo as a child and my own kids love going there.
“We’re proud to be able to lend them our support both through the adoption of the Humboldt penguins on behalf of our colleagues, and by lobbying in support of zoos being allowed to reopen soon.”
Many people said it was a 'lovely gesture' while others suggested perhaps Frosties could adopt the zoo's tigers.
