BOSSES at Oldham Coliseum say they are delighted after learning they will be getting a grant from Whitehall.

Major funding has been announced for venues up and own the country, after calls to support struggling arts projects.

An Oldham Coliseum spokesman said: "We’re thrilled and extremely grateful that the Coliseum has been awarded a grant from the National Emergency Response Fund

"This support will help us to continue to serve the communities of Oldham and Greater Manchester as a core part of our region’s cultural ecology, working with artists and creating opportunities for audiences and participants of all ages to experience and creat great art. We're not out of the woods yet and the support of our audiences and partners is still critical. But we're excited to plan for the future and the continuation of our venue's 135-year history."

The Coliseum has been staging a series of online activities in lockdown.
