A 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after two women were stabbed in Oldham.
Jayden Hayes, of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following the attacks in November, 2019.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Stockport Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, July 9.
The first incident occurred at 6.30pm on November 1, 2019, when a 61-year-old woman was stabbed in Longfield Crescent, Oldham.
The second incident took place later that month on November 20. On this occasion a 71-year-old woman was attacked by a man with a knife in an alleyway off Stoneleigh Street, Derker, Oldham.
Both women were taken to hospital with serious injuries and have since been discharged.
At the time, Detective Chief Inspector James Faulkner called the stabbings "violent and motiveless attacks that has left two vulnerable women fearing for their safety."
Extra patrols were sent to the areas in response to the incidents.
