COUNCIL bosses are appealing for information to catch those responsible for dumping this rubbish on a road.

In the early hours of last Tuesday morning, flytippers disposed of a large amount of waste on Walker Fold Road, which had to be cleared up using a JCB.

Now Bolton Council is appealing for help to catch those responsible.

They are asking people who saw anything to get in touch at neighbourhoodservicesinbox@bolton.gov.uk.

Executive Cabinet Member for Environmental Regulatory Services, Cllr Hilary Fairclough, has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

She said: “This was an appalling act of flytipping as well as incredibly dangerous – it could quite easily have caused an accident, and we would like to thank our residents for reporting this to us so quickly.

“Our staff have acted quickly and made the road safe. Due to the size of the flytip, we needed a JCB to clear everything away and we got a contractor to come down as soon as possible.

“We would urge anyone who thinks they may have spotted something to contact us.

“Any evidence we find will be used to track down the perpetrators and rest assured we will be doing everything we can to track them down.

“Flytipping is an inexcusable crime. If you offend, you will be pursued like any other criminal and you will be prosecuted.”
