TWO men have been arrested after a house was burgled.
Both men have been arrested this evening on suspicion of burglary at an address in Burnley where high value property was stolen.
They were identified as being responsible and when located by officers initially evaded police by entering an address and the occupants refused to answer the door.
A spokesman for the police said: "The officers were then left with a decision to make and discussed all their available options.
"Leave and find them another day? Continue knocking and politely ask them to answer the door?
"Force the door and forcibly remove them? What would you do?"
"Unfortunately damage was caused to the door which the occupants were very upset about and the detained males are currently enjoying the benefits of the newly opened custody suite at Burnley."
