KEEPING to her vow to celebrate and share significant birthdays and anniversaries with townsfolk, the mayor of Oldham, cllr Ginny Alexander visited Mrs Dorothy Wild who is celebrating her 100th birthday.
Dorothy was very proud to tell the Mayor she had received her letter from The Queen.
Dorothy worked as a secretary for a catering company and the family were born in the same house in Wool Road, Dobcross. She has five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The mayor mayor: "Keeping our social distancing I had a lovely chat with Dorothy's son Phillip and daughter Pat. It was interesting listening to the history of the family.
“Thank you for allowing me to be part of the celebrations. Have a very happy birthday Dorothy. Wishing all the very best to you and your lovely family.”
