A CHILDREN'S activity golf centre and one of the UK's largest driving range centre were forced to be closed at the weekend due to coronavirus concerns.

Bosses at Trafford Golf Centre and Dino Falls Adventure Golf posted on social media on Saturday about the measures.

It comes less than a month after the Jurassic-themed golf and tourist attraction re-opened their doors on June 22.

A spokesman for Trafford Golf and Dino Falls said: "From 18th July 2020, Trafford Golf Centre and Dino Falls Adventure Golf are now closed until further notice following the discovery of some Covid-19 cases connected to the site.

"We have notified the relevant health authorities and are taking the appropriate steps to prevent further transmission. Customer and employee safety is our highest priority.

"We appreciate these are concerning times and we want to reassure the public that all of the correct measures have been in place following our re-opening in May and we have notified customers of our closure plans at the earliest possible opportunity.

"Our social distancing and cleanliness measures were advised in the guidelines and have been adhered to vigilantly. Public Health England have advised that if you visited in the past week (14-18 July) and if you become unwell or start to show symptoms, please follow the NHS guidelines found here: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.

"We apologise for any inconvenience to our customers. Anyone who has pre-booked to visit Dino Falls Adventure Golf will receive a cancellation email. We will advise on our plans for reopening in due course."
