AN Oldham man has been handed a hefty fine for using his mobile phone whilst driving in Wrexham.
A hearing at North East Wales Magistrates Court on July 20, was told that Stephen Paul Collins denied using his phone whilst behind the wheel of his Mercedes van on Central Road in the town centre.
Collins, of Thames Street in Oldham, was not present at court for the hearing in Mold where he was found guilty of the offence.
The 38-year-old was fined a total of £1,330 for driving whilst using a handheld mobile device – which includes court costs.
Collins also had six penalty points added onto his driving licence.
