BLACKBURN-born designer Wayne Hemingway has spoken of his desire to help the restoration of an East Lancs entertainment landmark.
Burnley Empire Trust is nearly half-way to a £10k target to revamp the Cow Lane venue and posted a message from patron Wayne Hemingway about the project.
He said the ‘energy' of trustee Sophie Gibson, who approached him, was one reason he got involved.
Wayne added: “To see a new generation looking at a magnificent old building that my generation and other generations allowed to get into that state. But to think of how it could be a place for future generations to enjoy for a multitude of uses.
“There is something about doing something modern in a building that’s done creative things in the past. When you see the actual building you can’t help but be moved by it. If there is any way we can help we will.”
