A NEW steak joint built inside a double-decker bus has opened its doors in Blackburn

Bullring Steakhouse is based in the car park at Whalley Range Business Park and is offering a range of steaks and burgers.

Presently, due to coronavirus restrictions, food is pick-up only but the upper deck can, when in use, accommodate up to 23 diners.

The bus was situated in Bolton and moved to Blackburn in the spring and has been kitted inside and out with decking at the front where food can be served.

It comes complete with decorative horns at the front and seating on the upper deck still features the traditional bus seats.

Manager Bilal said: “We were due to open in June but due to the lockdown and pandemic work was delayed. We have had a great response from Blackburn so far and are hoping to add more to our new menu in the coming week.

“Due to restrictions we are not serving food inside the bus and customers cannot queue outside. They can order on the phone and then pick up it up themselves.

“Customers normally are collecting at the front door or we can bring out the food to their cars.”

The steak bus which is open from 11.30am until 11pm offers similar style foods to the Bolton Steaks On A Plane restaurant which is built inside a former aircraft.

A ‘House Special’ – steak and chips will set you back £9 and is enough to feed two.

Bilal said: “We have found Blackburn customers have a taste for hot dogs and the chicken tikka and chips is also quite popular.

“Clearly, the evening is the busiest time of the day but we are here all day so people can order anytime.”

The steak house is hoping to offer a delivery service by the end of the month.
