AN Oldham man has been jailed for 42 weeks for a spree of thefts from Boots stores and defying a suspended sentence order imposed to try to rehabilitate him.
George Jonathan Hill, 23, of Roundtree House, Manchester Street, Oldham, stole more than £1,100 worth of cosmetics from the pharmacy stores at Chadderton and Oldham between February 19 and May 4.
He was given a suspended sentence by Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on May 27, but failed to attend any appointments arranged at Oldham Probation Service, including dates on June 16 and 22.
Hill was brought before Stockport Magistrates on Wednesday (September 2) and locked up for 42 months.
