AN "emotional" vigil was held last night, Sunday, as family and friends of a missing mum stood together and prayed for her to be found.

Kiera Allardice, who is also known by her maiden name Pearson, went missing after leaving her home on Bury Road in Tonge Fold on Wednesday, September 2 at around 3pm.

Police issued an appeal to find the 31-year-old and on Thursday night 70 friends, family members and kind-hearted residents split up in three groups to look for her.

The search was extended to Manchester on Friday night and carried on at the weekend in borough spots such as Raikes Lane and Darcy Lever.

And yesterday at 6.30pm Kiera's loved ones gathered outside her flat for a vigil.

Kiera's best friend Kerrie Farrell said: "It was really emotional.

"There were 40 or 50 there and even people who did not know Kiera were there.

"We all lit a candle and said a prayer for her 14-year-old son Leon.

"It was beautiful and very sad at the same time.

"With each passing day it is becoming harder and harder and we are going out of our minds looking for her.

"Even if Kiera does not want to come home we just want her to let us know."

A search has been taking place today in areas such as Halliwell Road.

Kiera is described as a slim white female, around 5"8 tall and with short "brushed to the side" hair.

She also has a full sleeve tattoo on her right arm.

Kiera is believed to be wearing a khaki green Converse coat which is orange on the inside, which can be seen on the black hood.

She wore black ripped jeans and grey Converse trainers too.

If you have any information about Kiera, contact police on 101 quoting log number 1,823 of September 2.

Kind-hearted Tracey Hunt is also offering £1,000 for anyone who has information to help find Kiera.
