MAGISTRATES have ordered that a pitbull terrier dog be destroyed after police seized the animal at an address in Co-operation Street, in Failsworth.
The dog, named Rolo and owned by Jody Leak, will be put to sleep unless a successful appeal is lodged within 21 days of September 2, the day the order was imposed by Tameside Magistrates’ Court.
Justices were satisfied that the dog was dangerous and “do not feel a control order would be sufficient and that the owner would not comply with it”.
