POLICE have issued an alert highlighting a rise in vehicle crime across the Saddleworth West and Lees area.

In a post on social medía they say: ‘Arrests have been made. Patrols in targeted areas are taking place. Enquiries are being made.

“We have noticed via social media many incidents are not being reported to the police which makes it harder for us to target patrols and gather evidence.

“Suspicious activity is not being reported to us but is being posted via social media.

“We have seen names and photos being posted on social media. These can cause detrimental repercussions towards the individual and a police investigation.

We need to work together and need information from our community.

Victims of crime or anyone who suspects a crime has been committed should call 101 or report it online via the GMP website.
