TWO vehicles worth thousands of pounds were destroyed in a suspected arson attack at Saddleworth Business Centre in Delph, in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 4).

A Land Rover and a Mercedes saloon were both engulfed by the blaze.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 4.30 am on Sunday, one fire engine from Mossley was called to reports of a vehicle fire in a car park on Huddersfield Road.

“The crew was quickly on the scene and extinguished the fire, which involved two cars, using one hose reel. Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour and a half.”

A GMP spokesman said: ‘We were called to the carpark of Saddleworth Buisness Park to reports of a deliberate ignition.

“It is believed one vehicle was set alight and the fire subsequently spread to another vehicle.”
