AN appeal for a new takeaway in Oldham has been allowed by a planning inspector.
Councillors turned down proposals by Mohammed Irfan to relocate his eaterie from 141 to 145 Lee Street.
This was amid concerns about increased traffic associated with the new venture, which would be at the corner of Park Street.
And there were worries over cooking smells and disturbance.
But planning inspector Mr R Cooper, allowing the plans, said 145 Lee Street was already retail premises.
He said that during a site visit there were no signs of traffic congestion.
Mr Cooper also felt extraction equipment could quell neighbours' fears.
