TIME to get a tingle down your spine...

But it is all for a good cause as the Friends of Diggle School (FODS) promise a really special trail to celebrate Halloween and the school’s half-term week.

Headquarters for the shivery adventure is bubbly community champion Tracy Buckley’s home in the village centre.

Pumpkins, spiders, witches, skeletons and hand painted spooky stones fill the approach to the house and gardens.

Tracey said: “There is tremendous enthusiasm for the event particularly in light of the current situation.

"In all, there will be 20 different and exciting tableaux placed in a loop around the village but they are all compliant with government guidelines and safe distancing.

“But there are be some super efforts to capture the whole spirit of Halloween — look out for some scary characters.

“The FODS team have gone all out this year to bring a very special trail and create some super masterpieces.

"And children are encouraged to do the trail in fancy dress and a sweet treat will be available at the end.”

The trail starts today (Friday, October 23) and runs until Sunday, November 1. Trail sheets, priced at £3, will be available from Grandpa Greene's and The Gate Inn.
