AN OXFORD college has announced a new scholarship for BAME students.

UK doctoral candidates in Law at Christ Church can gain access to the scholarship, which will provide full home fees and maintenance for three years and applies for students starting their degrees next October.

Professor Anne Davies, Dean of the Faculty of Law, said: “In creating these funding opportunities, we are acknowledging that the student body across the university is not as diverse as it should be.”

Professor Geraldine Johnson, senior censor at Christ Church, added: “We hope this grant will encourage more bright young people from BAME backgrounds to apply to study here.”
