THE company secretaries of two local companies have been fined at Tameside Magistrates' Court for failing to disclose the names of drivers of their vehicles suspected by police of committing an offence.

F R Commercials Ltd, in Ward Street, Chadderton, denied the charge but was found guilty by Tameside magistrates in their absence on Tuesday (November 17).

The offence was alleged to have been committed in a Mercedes Sprinter van on February 28.

The company was fined £990 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £99 to victim services.

Diamond Logistics NW Ltd, of Ridgefield Street, Failsworth, on December 2, 2019, failed to disclose the identity of the driver of a Nissan Juke car when so required by police, when he or she was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

They were fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £100 to victim services after the case was proved in their absence.
