AN Oldham man who repeatedly failed to turn up for appointments by order of Tameside Magistrates' Court has been jailed.

Calvin James Boyle, 36, of Granby Street, did not comply with the community requirement of a suspended sentence order issued by the court on November 12, 2019, by failing to turn up for a unpaid work on January 19 and an appointment with his responsible officer on January 24.

The six-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months has now been implemented at the latest hearing on November 18.

His original offences were theft of a Dewalt laser worth £350 at Salford on November 23, 2018 failure to surrender to custody on January 29, 2019 and on February 13, 2019 he failed to surrender to custody at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
