POLICE have released CCTV images after an armed robbery at a convenience store.

Two men threatened staff at Worthing News in Rowlands Road, Worthing, yesterday evening as they stole four bottles of vodka and hundreds of pounds in cash.

One victim suffered a minor injury after being attacked by one of the men, and the pair were reportedly carrying a firearm.

Now officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and have released CCTV images of one of the suspects.

The first suspect is white, bald and in his mid-30s with blue eyes. He was wearing a black hoodie and a black backpack.

The second suspect is tall with dark brown eyes, and was wearing a face mask and also wearing all black.

Detective Inspector Pauline Lane said: “We are pursuing fast-time lines of enquiry to identify and trace these two suspects and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or who has information that may assist us.

“We would also urge anyone who was in the area around the time of this incident and has CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage to get in touch straightaway.

“If you know anything that could help us with our investigation or recognise anyone in the images please report it to us online or via 101, quoting Operation Everdon.”
