AN OLDHAM man is aiming to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for charity.

Mofozzul Choudhury, also known as Imran, is preparing for the trek, which was due to go ahead this year.

Mofozzul’s target is to raise £10,000 in total with the public’s support, their personal donations and business sponsors.

He said: “I have been working for many charities to help people and communities in need since 2005. Helping and supporting people gives me mental and emotional satisfaction as a human being, as I see this as a way of giving back to society.

“I have done many activities including a skydive and climbing to raise money for good causes in the past, but this time I am doing something extremely challenging, probably the biggest challenge in my life due to my ill-health conditions.”

Once he's reached his target, £5,000 will go to NHS Oldham, and £5,000 for Global Relief Trust, a registered charity which works within and outside the UK.

Businesses can sponsor Mofozzul with banners or a top using the business name and logo. He said: “I will hold banners one at time or one combined with a number of sponsors, or wear a top and take pictures at the summit of Kilimanjaro.”
