The following people have been jailed over the last month over offences in Oldham.

The cases were all heard at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

Marcus Horrocks was sent to jail for a year for dangerous driving.

The 28-year-old led police on a 13 minute chase and hit speeds of up to 60 miles per hour on roads with a limit of 30.

Horrocks, of Wellbank Close was also found to be driving without a licence of insurance during the incident in September last year.

William Ashworth was jailed for two years and four months for contacting his sister in Oldham in breach of a court order and issuing threats to her, her partner and a police officer.

The serial offender, aged 36, had been jailed before for multiple violent incidents against members of his family.

Ashworth, of Ben Street in Manchester, had pleaded guilty to the string of offences in June last year which included threatening to pour petrol on his sister’s partner.

Kane Williams, 21, and Dexter Webster, 26, were jailed for a carjacking when they forced the driver of a car in Royton out of his vehicle and made off with it.

The pair confessed to the incident which took place in February last year.

Williams, of Whalley Avenue in Littleborough, was jailed for two years and ten months, and Webster, of Stenson Square in Openshaw, got four years.

Nicholas Cooper was jailed for stealing a car and handling stolen goods.

The 28-year-old broke into a home in Royton in July last year and made off with a Volvo.

He was found inside the vehicle days later and the car was later found to contain the proceeds of another burglary.

Cooper, of Unity Street in Heywood, was jailed for three years and four months.

Jamie Sharrocks was jailed for a series of offences including dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, affray, taking a vehicle without the consent of the owner, possession of drugs and possession of a knife.

The 33-year-old struck three vehicles between June and November last year and attacked two occupants of the vehicles.

Sharrocks, of Cherry Street in Oldham, was jailed for four years and six months.
