A 28-YEAR-OLD man who fractured his leg at Besom Hill, near Grains Bar, was rescued by Oldham Mountain Rescue Team last night.
OMRT sent 15 members to the scene after they were asked for assistance by North West Ambulance Service and, because of the casualty's location and injury, NWAS hazardous area response team were also involved.
They were able to assist the crew using their advanced medical techniques.
The casualty was then packaged onto OMRT stretcher and wheelled for the short, if not a very muddy journey, down to the ambulance for transport to hospital.
An OMRT spokesperson said: “Thanks to all involved in another great example of inter-agency collaboration. We wish the casualty all the best for a speedy recovery.”
OMRT were involved for just over two hours.
