The following cases have recently been before the court over the last week involving either people from Oldham or offences which took place in the town.

These all called at Tameside Magistrates’ Court.

Jamie Timmins was penalised for receiving stolen goods in the form of a Black Ford Fiesta worth £9,710 which he knew was stolen.

The 24-year-old confessed to the offence which took place in Oldham in November last year.

He was placed on a curfew ordering him to stay at his home on Parkgate in Chadderton between 7pm and 7am for eight weeks.

He was also ordered to pay compensation of £500.

A 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sent to the Greater Manchester youth offender panel for nine months for having a knife at the Oldham Library and Art Gallery and destroying a glass door.

The teenage admitted the offences which took place in January this year.

He was also ordered to pay compensation of £100.

Sarah Boulton was given a suspended sentence of four weeks for six months for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 32-year-old admitted the offence which took place in Oldham in February this year on Coal Pitt Lane.

She was found to have 124 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breach.

Boulton, of Whitebank Road in Oldham, was also banned from driving for 30 months.

Marlan Barbu was jailed for ten weeks for a string of thefts.

The 25-year-old admitted he stole £200 in April in Oldham.

Barbu, of HMP Risley, also admitted attempting to steal two bank cards in January 2019 and two counts of stealing £500 the same month in Tameside.

Slawek Tomasik was placed under a community order for an assault on actual bodily harm.

The 54-year-old admitted the offence which took place in Oldham in August last year.

Tomasik, of William Street in Rochdale, was ordered to attend at eight rehabilitation requirement activity days, carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year and pay compensation of £300.
