The rate of Covid in Oldham has fallen slight, after rising earlier this week.

The latest data from the Office for National Statistics shows that there were 10 positive tests in the area today.

The weekly total stands at 123, a fall of 1.6 per cent from the seven days before this.

Over the UK the number of cases is falling by 10.2 per cent.

The rate of Covid per 100,000 people in the town has also fallen and stands at 63.3.

Across the whole of the UK this figure is 26.1.

There were no deaths in Oldham today which came within 28 days of a positive test for the virus.

There have been three deaths over the last even days, which is a fall of 25 per cent from the week before this.

There were 33 deaths across the UK today and 184 over the last week, a welcome fall of 23.7 per cent.

The new cases mean that in Oldham 23,034 people have tested positive for the virus since he pandemic began.

The latest data also shows that 33,032,120 people across the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine, and 10,425,790 people have had their second dose.
