POLICE in Oldham are searching for the owner of a phone that was left among thousands of pounds worth of damage at a Failsworth golf club.

Taking to Facebook GMP Failsworth and Hollinwood wrote: “Over the weekend a large number of youths caused damage of up to £4,000 at Brookdale Golf Club, spoiling the facilities and intimidating members of the public.

“One of them was kind enough to leave behind an iPhone which is now in safe possession of Police in Oldham.”

The post continues: “If it belongs to you, or your child has complained of a lost phone, please get in touch with GMP and we will be more than happy to discuss.”

A photograph of the black iPhone has also been posted alongside the message.

The post has been shared over 40 times and received more than 60 likes and 26 comments, but it remains unclear whether the phone has been returned to its owner.

Brookdale Gold Club is set in the Medlock Valley and the course gives members and visitors “one of the most enjoyable 18 holes in the region”, according to its website.
