POLICE officers in Oldham have conducted speed checks amid a growing number of complaints from residents.

Officers from the Werneth Neighbourhood Team took to Chamber Road, Oldham on Thursday to conduct the checks.

The need for the checks comes after the force received a flood of complaints from residents regarding speeding.

Oldham GMP central took to Facebook on Thursday and wrote: “Officers from the Werneth Neighbourhood Team have been conducting speed checks on Chamber Road today after receiving complaints from local residents regarding speeding vehicles in the area.”

A photograph of an officer conducting checks was also posted.

The post has been met by 100 comments from residents posting their speeding hotspots.

Grains Road, Delph, Heron Street, Chadderton Way, Hollins Road, Manchester Road, Shaw and Ashton Road were some of the top hotspots mentioned.
