HERE are some pictures taken at a rock festival in Oldham back in the nineties.

Smiling faces can be seen at Oldham’s Werneth Park on Sunday August 4 1996.

The festival was headlined by Dodgy and Audioweb, with Dumb playing there too.

People turned out to see the performances and it was one of the hottest days of the year.

Oldhamer Fazal Rahim shared a memory. He said: "I remember the festival well.

"I used to run to a shop on Cambridge Street and I remember running out of soft drinks and the ice cream freezer was empty."

Jasmin Witter was in the crowd. She said: "It was really great, a lovely day and the park was packed. Everybody was friendly and relaxed, I just lived across the road at the bottom entrance, which was Cambridge St. You could always hear the music from our home and cars would park all over. The park had a great squarish space and it was on a hill slope, it was the perfect park for festivals."
