Police are probing the armed robbery of a shop in Dukinfield.
Officers were called to the One Stop in King Street shortly before 8pm after reports of a disturbance.
Upon their arrival they established two men had entered the property with a knife and threatened two staff members.
They stole a quantity of cash and tobacco and made off in a black BMW towards Hyde.
The pair are both described as white and around 5ft 10ins.
One was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a grey and navy hoody top, a face mask, dark trainers and red gloves.
The other was wearing similar trousers and a mask and also a grey and navy hooded top, black gloves and was carrying a black drawstring bag.
Neither of the staff members were injured as a result.
Detective Sergeant Christopher Dean from Tameside's CID described it as a "cowardly attack."
He said: "This was a shocking and brazen incident during daylight hours which has understandably left two innocent members of staff distraught. Luckily on this occasion nobody was injured, however the consequences could have been a lot worse.
"This was a cowardly attack on a shop on a main road and we know that there will have been many people passing around this time. We would ask that if you saw anything suspicious or have any Dash Cam footage that may have captured the offenders as they escaped, that you get in touch with us".
No arrests have been made as yet, however detectives are actively pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.
Anyone who has any information about the robbery can call police on 0161 856 9262, quoting incident number 2621 of 6 May 2021.
