PRIME MINISTER BORIS JOHNSON has confirmed that hotels, B&Bs and other tourist accommodation will be able to reopen in England from May 17.

This means that we can once again enjoy a staycation in the warmth and comfort of a warm cottage.

To celebrate, we have tracked down some luxe and cosy cottages that are right on our doorstep in Worcestershire.

All of these listings can be found on Vrbo, a comparison site for holiday rentals.

Fancy a night in the Cotswolds? If so, this is the perfect cottage to come back to after a busy day of exploration.

Russell Court Cottage has all the qualities of a historic 18th century home- but it has been lovingly and beautifully modernised.

It was part of the original stables which housed the Broadway Colony of artists in the 1880s; among them were Henry James, and John Singer Sargent, whose "Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose" was painted in the gardens, currently under restoration by the owners.

It also has its own private garden, complete with a fishpond and fountain.

There are three double bedrooms in total, complete with four poster beds and en-suite shower rooms.

This ‘chocolate box’ cottage is only small, with two bedrooms in total.

The historic building dates back to the 17th century and was once the village post office; a red post box still adorns the front of the property.

Exposed timberwork, slate tiled floors, a brick fireplace and a bread over set above the wood burning stove are just some of the period features that the property has retained.

The exteriors are just as beautiful as the interiors, featuring a south facing garden with a paved patio area and enough garden furniture for four.

The three bedroom property has been loving renovated and extended over the patio.

Guests can enjoy spectacular countryside views from every window.

Ideal for guests who prefer a more modernised stay, this cottage has a new kitchen with a variety of top of the range appliances.

A new wood burner has also been installed and the extension benefits from underfloor heating.
