GUNSHOTS were fired at a petrol station in Hollinwood, Oldham last night.

At around 11.20pm, two men are believed to have approached a silver Skoda parked in the Texaco garage on Hollins Road, Hollinwood and shots were fired.

The two men then fled.

The five people in the car also ran from the scene before returning to retrieve the vehicle that is believed to have been stolen.

Officers are currently monitoring the scene where a cordon has been put in place.

According to reports nearby residents described hearing a ‘bang’ on Thursday night, before hearing what was believed to be a police helicopter flying overhead at around 1am.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson from GMP said: “Police were called to reports of gunshots at Hollins Road, Oldham, at about 11.20pm on Thursday May 14, 2021.

“It is believed two men approached a silver Skoda parked in the Texaco garage and shots were fired. The two men then fled the scene.

“The five occupants of the car also fled on foot, returning a short time later to retrieve the vehicle, believed to be stolen.”
