UPDATE: Four more arrests in investigation into Oldham stabbing
A FIFTH man has been charged in connection with the death of dad-to-be Charlie Elms.
The 25-year-old was stabbed to death last month following a 'distaburbance' in Fifth Avenue, Oldham.
Detectives from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team have now charged a fifth man in relation to the incident.
Melvin James Whelan, 38, of Greenacres Road, Oldham, has been charged with one count of violent disorder and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court later today.
Police were called shortly after 5.05pm on Wednesday, May 26, to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men causing damage to a property on Fifth Avenue Oldham.
During the disturbance, 25-year-old Charlie Elms was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
