THE following people from Oldham have been before the courts recently for shop lifting and theft offences.

John Paul Mcdonagh, 32 of Siddall Street, Oldham, stole cables worth £1,000 from Gottlieb Packaging Materials limited.

The theft occurred on January 21, 2021, and Mr Mcdonagh pleaded guilty on February 24, 2021 at Greater Manchester Magistrates' Court.

He was committed to prison for 20 weeks and ordered to pay £128 to victim services.

Kelly Marie Heney, 39 of Shaw Road, Oldham stole a credit card of an unknown value belonging to John Gwilliam.

The theft occurred on April 28, 2020 and on December 16,2020 she was given a community order and ordered to pay costs of £85 and £95 to victim services by Tameside Magistrates’ Court.

On May 5, 2020 Ms Heney committed fraud in Oldham by using the stolen credit card with the intention to gain £24.30.

She pleaded guilty at Tameside Magistrates’ Court and received a community order and was ordered to pay £300, £10.00 per fortnight commencing January 13, 2021.

Alan Ryan Whitehead, 30 of Rydal Walk, Oldham stole two stihl saws, to the value of £1050 , belonging to Thomas Kiggin.

The theft occurred on November 15,2019 in Greater Manchester and on January 5, 2021, Mr Whitehead was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 18 months by Tameside Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay £1050 in compensation.

Alan Wild, 49 of Falkirk Street, Oldham attempted to steal from Chadderton Town Hall.

The attempt took place on April 7,2019 and on April 9, 2021 Mr Wild was committed to prison for 22 weeks by Manchester And Salford Magistrates' Court.

He was also ordered to pay compensation of £250.00.

Tajul Islam, 36 of Ripon Street, Oldham, was caught with a crowbar, an item considered to be used for theft.

The incident took place on 18, August 2020 in Oldham and on March 29, 2021 Mr Islam was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 18 months by Tameside Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay £1,907.80 in compensation.

Rashid Iqbal Khan, 36 of Edward Street, Oldham received a stolen Ford Fiesta.

The car belonging to Christopher McLoughlin had an approximate value of £5000.

The incident occurred on November 9,2019 in Oldham and on February 17, 2021 Mr Khan was committed to prison for 16 weeks by Tameside Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay £800 in compensation.
