A DENTISTS practice is Oldham has marked National Smile Month after welcoming the borough’s mayor into its premises.

Ascroft Medical, were delighted to welcome mayor, Cllr Jenny Harrison, and consort, Cllr Shaid Mushtaq, into its building.

The Clegg Street practice is raising awareness of sharing messages of the importance of a healthy mouth, which can in turn improve people’s smiles.

Award- winning practice manager and director of Ascroft Medical, Krzysztof Zemlik, said: “My co-director, Dr Piotr Kieruzel and myself and all our team, have been looking forward to welcoming the Mayor of Oldham and her consort to our clinic.

"We are always keen to educate, motivate and communicate positive oral health messages about the importance of a healthy mouth and improve the quality of smiles for everyone.

"We are so thankful to our Mayor and Consort for visiting us during National Smile Month and by doing so, helping us to communicate our message.”

Dr Piotr Kieruzel said: “We are supporting The Oral Health Foundation by sharing some of their messages and today we invited the Mayor of Oldham and her Consort to smile with us.

"As National Smile Month tell us 'sharing a smile can be such a powerful thing to do.

"It can be a sign of friendship, trust, togetherness and love.

"It’s also a sign of good oral health!”

Cllr Harrison accepted a donation of dental goods on behalf of one of her chosen charities, Oldham Street Angels.
