A WOMAN was rescued by the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team after injuring her leg while walking near Delph yesterday.
The team were called to the scene by the North West Ambulance Service to help the woman, who sustained a lower leg injury in the incident.
Ten members spent an hour rescuing the woman, who was with a group of people, before she was led to safety.
An Oldham Mountain Rescue Team spokesperson said: “Fortunately, the lady was out with a group, who were able to flag us down and direct us into the scene, which only a short distance from the road, albeit up a steep hillside.
"Once with the casualty, we were able to assess and treat her, before packaging her on a stretcher and carrying down to the North West Ambulance Service ambulance.”
