AN empassioned micro brewer is inviting discerning beer lovers to share his growing success.

Stephen James, 44, who launched Donkeystone Brewery in Greenfield four years ago, is offering the wider community a series of unique incentives if they join their crowdfunding scheme.

Dad-of-two Stephen said: “For a small craft beer brewery with big ideas the pandemic really tested our resolve.

"The closure of pubs and our taproom seriously limited sales outlets for our beers so we had to rethink our sales strategy.

“We invested heavily in a small canning line enabling us to sell directly to customers and shops. Without this it could have been the end but with hard work and commitment we made it through by the skin of our teeth.

“We depleted our cash resources but in true Donkeystone style we are still punching above our weight but need your help to see our dreams come true.

"We always felt like part of the community and are determined to build something everyone can be part of – that’s why we’re calling our crowdfunding plan Family Stone."

A £25 pledge earns a £40 beer voucher to spend on Donkeystone beer with a range of pledges from £50, £100, £250, £500, £1,000 and £2,000 earning gifts and incentives.

Stephen added: "The funds will pay for a much needed larger brew kit so we can expand our scope nationally and internationally.

"We will be able to expand our range of craft beers with new styles to keep up with consumer interest.

“We are aiming for an initial amount of £50,000, and if we exceed the amount, we will put it towards a better canning line.

“Our rewards for your pledges have been created to be available to everyone.

"We want you to feel proud of your commitment as we are.

“The success of this campaign will be all down to you and your help, and if we open another taproom you will be welcomed like family.

"We won’t forget your kindness and will make sure you are rewarded appropriately.”
