POLICE in Royton and Shaw are warning residents to be wary after a spate of burglaries from garden sheds.

Officers have received a rise in the number of reports of crimes of this natures recently.

And police are advising people to make sure green-fingered residents pack away their garden tools and secure their sheds to help stop thieves breaking in.

A Greater Manchester Police Royton and Shaw spokesman said: "Be aware – shed breaks.

"We are seeing an increase in reports of burglary from garden sheds.

"If you are out pottering in the garden during this fine weather please remember to put your tools away and secure your shed."
