A CAFE with a difference is opening on Oldham’s Yorkshire Street today.

Soul Cafe is a new venture by Make Jesus Known (MJK), a charity with the aim of using faith to ‘change the lives’ of young people.

On the menu is a range of food, hot drinks and milkshakes, but the cafe is also planning to offer services addressing some of the issues faced by young people, particularly during the pandemic.

MJK’s CEO Tim Cooke said: “We’re really excited to be able to start welcoming customers into Soul Cafe.

“It’s been a long time coming for the team, as we’ve worked hard along with local tradespeople on the renovations and upgrades to make the cafe vision come to life throughout the pandemic.

“We know how much people have missed out on.

“We wanted to create a safe space they can use to spend time with their friends and reconnect.”

The cafe will be open between 11.00am and 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday.
