POLICE have issued a warning to residents after a flurry of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Shaw and Crompton.
Two burglaries and two attempted burglaries were reported to police overnight between Wednesday and Thursday this week.
They posted the warning on social media on Thursday afternoon, advising residents to take precautions against the ‘opportunistic’ thieves, such as keeping an eye on open windows in their homes.
The post from GMP Royton and Shaw said: "BE AWARE. Overnight we have received reports of two attempted burglaries and two burglaries in the Shaw/Crompton area.
"Please be mindful when leaving windows open, even upstairs windows.
"Opportunistic thieves are about and targeting insecure properties."
