A PROBE is ongoing after the council leader's car was deliberately set on fire two weeks ago.

Police were sent to the Glodwick area at around 1.30am on Tuesday, July 13 after Cllr Arooj Shah's vehicle was set alight.

Firefighters put out the blaze and it was discovered that the fire, which also caused slight damage to a nearby property, had been started deliberately.

No-one was injured in the incident.

A police investigation was launched and two men, aged 23 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and were bailed pending conditions.
