Police have seized two vehicles in Hathershaw – after the drivers were found to be uninsured.
Officers carried out patrols in the area at the weekend.
They stopped several vehicles in order to ensure that everything was in order, and found that two drivers were driving without insurance.
As a result their vehicles were seized.
Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act allows officers to take cars in this circumstance.
A social media post by GMP Oldham Central showed the two vehicles being seized.
It added: “Further patrols will be out and about over the coming days” and hailed this as a benefit of community policing.
